      Assad Abdullatiff is the Chief executive of AXIS Fiduciary Ltd, a leading Mauritius-based independent trust company providing a full spectrum of fiduciary and corporate services to an international client base.

      Assad read for Bachelor of Law with Honours and a Master of Laws in the United Kingdom specializing in Business Law. Upon his return to Mauritius, he successfully sat for the Bar Vocational Course and was admitted to the Bar of Mauritius. He started his career in the financial services sector within a global fiduciary firm and counts several years of experience within the corporate and trust industry. 

      Immediately prior to joining AXIS Fiduciary Ltd, Assad was an Assistant Director at the Board of Investment of Mauritius, where he was the Head of the Financial Services Cluster and responsible for the promotion of Mauritius as an International Financial Centre.

      Assad is a full member of the Society of Trusts & Estate Practitioners (STEP) where he is very involved both at the domestic and international level. He was the past Chairman of the Mauritius branch and is currently serving as a member of STEP Council representing the African and Arabian regions. He is also a member of the Financial Services Consultative Council (FSCC), a statutory body chaired by the Minister of Financial Services Good Governance and Institutional Reforms.

      Vice President

      Maheshwar Doorgakant is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He is the Managing Director of Apex Fund Services (Mauritius) Ltd (“Apex Mauritius”), which forms part of the Apex Group (www.apexfundservices.com) which has offices in various jurisdictions including New York, London, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Ireland.

      Mahesh holds a number of directorships on the Boards of numerous India and Africa focused funds and companies through which he has acquired extensive experience and knowledge on key industries in India and its principal capital markets as well as Africa.

      Mahesh has previously served as president of the executive committee of the Association of Trust and Management Companies of Mauritius and is the vice-president of the Mauritius Society of Chartered Accountants. Prior to joining Apex Mauritius, he was the Group Financial Controller of a major listed group in Mauritius. He had also previously managed another Mauritian Management Company specialising in the management and administration of Global Business Companies.

    • Rogers Capital, represented by Mr Richard Li


      Richard is a Fellow of Institute of Actuaries (FIA) and is the Head of insurance services at Rogers Capital where he specialises in the setting up of insurance related entities in Mauritius, including reinsurance companies, captives, reinsurance brokers and Lloyd’s coverholders. He also heads the Rogers Capital entity that provides captive insurance management services to captives in Mauritius.

      He has over 10 years of actuarial and insurance experience in UK and Mauritius. Before joining Rogers Capital, he spent 6 years in London working for major consulting firms such as KPMG, PwC and Mercer, advising major corporations and insurance companies on areas including technical actuarial, investment, risk, compliance and governance.

      He is also a director on a number of offshore insurance related entities in Mauritius.

      Madvi Jeebun is Head of Compliance and Technical at DTOS Group, a leading management company operating in the Mauritian global business sector for the last 23 years and licensed by the Financial Services Commission.  DTOS is a subsidiary of IBL Ltd.

      Madvi is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). She holds an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation Level 1 from The Chartered Institute of Taxation and a BSc. (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Mauritius.  She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and also a member of the International Fiscal Association (Mauritius) and of the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants.

      Madvi has 20 years of experience in the professional accounting, taxation, compliance, governance and audit in the Mauritius financial services sector.  She also has valuable experience as Compliance Manager for several companies within the IBL Group.  Prior to joining DTOS Group, Madvi was with Kemp Chatteris Deloitte and Touche and has held senior positions within the offshore and audit department.

      Bob is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, UK. He has 25 years of experience in banking, auditing and management of companies including administration and set up of Funds. He was previously the Managing Director/Chief executive Officer of Halifax Management Limited, a 100% subsidiary of CIEL Group which has merged with MITCO in 2011. Prior to that he was Manager at International Financial Services Limited, one of the leading Management Company in Mauritius for Global Businesses and later joined Deutsche Bank in Mauritius as head of department and had the responsibility of supervising the NAV calculation and reporting for several Funds registered worldwide. He is at present an executive Director of MITCO.

      Gordon is the Managing Director of the Accuro Mauritius office with overall responsibility for the Mauritian operations, in particular, the implementation of the strategy, the oversight of key client relationships, and driving business development initiatives into the African market. Gordon has 19 years’ experience in the private client and trust industry in South Africa with extensive knowledge and experience in South African exchange controls, tax, trusts and wills. Prior to joining Accuro, he was the Group Chief Operating Officer for Sentinel International Advisory Services, a South African fiduciary services company. Gordon is a regular guest on various Business Day television shows and also regularly delivers public talks on all aspects pertaining to trusts, tax and other estate planning topics. Gordon holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Law, a Certificate in Advanced Trust Law, an Honours Degree in Tax Law, a Master’s Degree in Finance and Estate Planning and a Master’s Degree in Tax Law (LLM). He is a full member of the International Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a member of the Fiduciary Institute of South Africa (FPSA) with the following recognised specialities; Senior Estate and Financial Practitioner, Senior Trust Administrator and Senior Wills Drafter.

      Varounen holds a Bachelor in Finance with Law and is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. With a strong background in tax and accounting, Varounen has extensive knowledge and experience in strategy development, stakeholder networking and engagement, financial reporting, board responsibilities, secretarial duties, tax planning, international finance, business advisory and business development. He has led different teams of professionals and managed multi-billions portfolio of assets in the course of his career. He regularly provides advice to his network of clients on a number of topics such as Fund structuring, Investment Advisory, listing on local and international exchange, wealth management, intellectual property, Freeport operations, aircraft and vessel registration as well as a number of financial structures internationally.
