    • Apex Fund Services (Mauritius) Ltd represented by Mr Mahesh Doorgakant

      President

      Maheshwar Doorgakant is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He is the Managing Director of Apex Fund Services (Mauritius) Ltd (“Apex Mauritius”), which forms part of the Apex Group (www.apexfundservices.com) which has offices in various jurisdictions including New York, London, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Ireland.

      Mahesh holds a number of directorships on the Boards of numerous India and Africa focused funds and companies through which he has acquired extensive experience and knowledge on key industries in India and its principal capital markets as well as Africa.

      Mahesh has previously served as president of the executive committee of the Association of Trust and Management Companies of Mauritius and is the vice-president of the Mauritius Society of Chartered Accountants. Prior to joining Apex Mauritius, he was the Group Financial Controller of a major listed group in Mauritius. He had also previously managed another Mauritian Management Company specialising in the management and administration of Global Business Companies.

      Shahed joined Vistra in Mauritius as the Head of Corporate Services and currently is the Managing Director of the Mauritius business.

      Shahed began his career in De Chazal Du Mee, representatives of Arthur Andersen in Mauritius, as accountant in 1998 where he spent 4 years. After a brief stint in Corporate Finance, Shahed moved to International Financial Services in Mauritius as executive for 4 years after which he joined Corporate Services Deutsche Bank in Mauritius in 2007 as the Head of Transaction Management and became the Head of the Corporate Services business in 2013. Shahed joined Vistra as part of the acquisition of the global Corporate Services of Deutsche Bank by Vistra in May 2018.

      Shahed as a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts and a member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors.

      Shahed speaks English and French.

      Shahed is the Vice President of the Association of Trust and Management Company.

    • Rogers Capital, represented by Mr Richard Li

      Secretary

      Richard is a Fellow of Institute of Actuaries (FIA) and is the Head of insurance services at Rogers Capital where he specialises in the setting up of insurance related entities in Mauritius, including reinsurance companies, captives, reinsurance brokers and Lloyd’s coverholders. He also heads the Rogers Capital entity that provides captive insurance management services to captives in Mauritius.

      He has over 10 years of actuarial and insurance experience in UK and Mauritius. Before joining Rogers Capital, he spent 6 years in London working for major consulting firms such as KPMG, PwC and Mercer, advising major corporations and insurance companies on areas including technical actuarial, investment, risk, compliance and governance.

      He is also a director on a number of offshore insurance related entities in Mauritius.

    • DTOS Ltd represented by Ms Madvi Jeebun

      Madvi Jeebun is Head of Compliance and Technical at DTOS Group, a leading management company operating in the Mauritian global business sector for the last 23 years and licensed by the Financial Services Commission.  DTOS is a subsidiary of IBL Ltd.

      Madvi is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). She holds an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation Level 1 from The Chartered Institute of Taxation and a BSc. (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Mauritius.  She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and also a member of the International Fiscal Association (Mauritius) and of the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants.

      Madvi has 20 years of experience in the professional accounting, taxation, compliance, governance and audit in the Mauritius financial services sector.  She also has valuable experience as Compliance Manager for several companies within the IBL Group.  Prior to joining DTOS Group, Madvi was with Kemp Chatteris Deloitte and Touche and has held senior positions within the offshore and audit department.

    • Intercontinental Trust Limited represented by Mr Yan Ng

      Treasurer

      Yan is an executive director of Intercontinental Trust Limited. He specialises in the structuring and administration of investment funds and listed companies. He is a board member of a number of funds and listed companies in Mauritius. He trained as a Chartered Accountant in London and was previously with Baker Tilly Mauritius and Deloitte in Luxembourg.

      He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He was previously the treasurer of the International Fiscal Association in Mauritius.

      Yan graduated from the University of Mauritius (BSc (Hons)) with a degree in Management and achieved a Masters in Finance (MSc) from Lancaster University.

    • Accuro Trust (Mauritius) Ltd represented by Mr Gordon Stuart

      Assistant Treasurer

      Gordon is the Managing Director of the Accuro Mauritius office with overall responsibility for the Mauritian operations, in particular, the implementation of the strategy, the oversight of key client relationships, and driving business development initiatives into the African market. Gordon has 19 years’ experience in the private client and trust industry in South Africa with extensive knowledge and experience in South African exchange controls, tax, trusts and wills. Prior to joining Accuro, he was the Group Chief Operating Officer for Sentinel International Advisory Services, a South African fiduciary services company. Gordon is a regular guest on various Business Day television shows and also regularly delivers public talks on all aspects pertaining to trusts, tax and other estate planning topics. Gordon holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Law, a Certificate in Advanced Trust Law, an Honours Degree in Tax Law, a Master’s Degree in Finance and Estate Planning and a Master’s Degree in Tax Law (LLM). He is a full member of the International Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a member of the Fiduciary Institute of South Africa (FPSA) with the following recognised specialities; Senior Estate and Financial Practitioner, Senior Trust Administrator and Senior Wills Drafter.

       

    • AXIS Fiduciary Ltd represented by Mr Assad Abdullatiff

      Assad Abdullatiff is the Chief executive of AXIS Fiduciary Ltd, a leading Mauritius-based independent trust company providing a full spectrum of fiduciary and corporate services to an international client base.

      Assad read for Bachelor of Law with Honours and a Master of Laws in the United Kingdom specializing in Business Law. Upon his return to Mauritius, he successfully sat for the Bar Vocational Course and was admitted to the Bar of Mauritius. He started his career in the financial services sector within a global fiduciary firm and counts several years of experience within the corporate and trust industry. 

      Immediately prior to joining AXIS Fiduciary Ltd, Assad was an Assistant Director at the Board of Investment of Mauritius, where he was the Head of the Financial Services Cluster and responsible for the promotion of Mauritius as an International Financial Centre.

      Assad is a full member of the Society of Trusts & Estate Practitioners (STEP) where he is very involved both at the domestic and international level. He was the past Chairman of the Mauritius branch and is currently serving as a member of STEP Council representing the African and Arabian regions. He is also a member of the Financial Services Consultative Council (FSCC), a statutory body chaired by the Minister of Financial Services Good Governance and Institutional Reforms.

    • Trident Trust Co (Mtius) Ltd represented by Mr Shammeem Abdoolakhan

      Shammeem has more than 19 years of experience in the Financial Services industry mostly in the establishment and administration of trusts and Global Business companies. He has been actively involved in the development of the financial services industry in Mauritius through his past involvement with the Association of Trust and Management Companies and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Mauritius Branch, of which he is the past Chairman. He is also a member of the International Fiscal Association and the Mauritius Institute of Directors. Shammeem speaks regularly at STEP Conferences and has occupied Senior position in multinational companies such as Maitland Group and is currently Director Client Services at Trident Trust Company ( Mauritius) Limited. Shammeem holds a degree in Economics and a post-graduate degree in Money and Banking from the University of Free State in South Africa.

       

    • Mauritius International Trust Company Ltd represented by Mr Amal Autar

      Mr. Amal Autar is the executive Director of Mauritius International Trust Company Limited (MITCO), one of the leading Management Companies licensed by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius and which forms part of the Ciel Group. He is an associate member of the UK Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. A graduate from the University of Witwatersrand South Africa, he has been with MITCO since 1995. He is an associate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and was the Chairman of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (Mauritius) Limited, the Mauritius branch of STEP Worldwide from 2015 to 2017. He is currently a Board member of STEP Mauritius and a Member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors.  

       

      With a career in corporate, tax, trust and estate planning spanning over more than 20 years in the global business sector, he has built an extensive experience in the structuring and administration of global business companies, trusts and funds. He also acts as Director on the board of Mauritius subsidiaries of several international funds and companies including SBM Securities Limited.
